Newmarket Holidays’ trade team visited Hays Travel’s Sunderland head office last week with a takeover day to showcase the operator’s growing portfolio of destinations.
The staff were “all shook up” as the day began with welcome from an Elvis impersonator, along with classic fairground food including popcorn, hot dogs, candy floss and doughnuts, and games such as Human Fruit Machine, Hook a Duck, Poker Darts, Hoopla and Basketball Bash.
The Hays Travel team also took part in prize draws and social shoutouts, with giveaways including a £500 High Street voucher, a £5,000 holiday for two, and two places on a Lapland Christmas experience flying from Leeds Bradford airport.
Hayley Morris, head of trade and partnerships at Newmarket Holidays, said: “It was a fantastic opportunity to have some fun, strengthen our partnership and showcase the range of exceptional experiences Newmarket Holidays has to offer, including 25 new tours and seven new destinations since our last visit in 2024.
“We’re proud to show our continued support and commitment to the trade.”
Jonathon Woodall-Johnston, Hays Travel chief operating officer, added: “A huge thanks to our partners Newmarket Holidays for a brilliant takeover day. They always receive a warm welcome at head office, and this year was no exception.
“Our people enjoyed helpful training sessions, engaging activities, plus plenty of treats –we all appreciate the effort Newmarket put into making it a memorable day.”
